POSITION TITLE AND DUTIES:

Responsible for providing speech therapy services for children in a variety of settings, including early intervention in homes, daycares, schools, clinics, and libraries. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients resulting from a variety of causes such as stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, cleft palate, cerebral palsy, autism, and/or various syndromes and emotional problems; developing and implementing strategies for aural rehabilitation; providing training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals; and working collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines. Caseload will include a large number of clients from immigrant communities with a bilingual background and/or limited English.

LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT:

Greensboro, NC.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • 400 hours of clinical experience in speech language pathology, including 150 hours working with children and aural rehabilitation. Experience may be paid or unpaid.
  • Bilingual background is required to understand the unique language issues faced by bilingual clients, and to effectively provide speech therapy services to clients with bilingual background and/or limited English.
  • Temporary or permanent licensure as Speech Language Pathologist in the state of North Carolina. If qualifying based on temporary licensure, must be able to obtain permanent licensure within 30 days of the date the temporary license expires.
  • Successful completion of national background check.
